[SatNews] This August, Philadelphia will be home to the premier public safety communications technology, education and networking event.

The APCO International Annual Conference will occur from August 7th through August 10th with at least 4,000 public safety communications officials scheduled to participate. Event organizers have made changes to enhance the conference schedule in 2011. First, the exhibit hall will be open on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to allow more time for buyers to view the latest products and service(s) and make decisions for their agencies’ equipment needs. Second, professional development sessions will be extended to 65 minutes to allow more time to delve into serious issues. Additionally, APCO will hold its annual Sunday Welcome Reception at the Franklin Institute. Monday night will be event-free to give attendees time to explore and experience Philadelphia.
