Hughes Network Systems, LLC will participate in the Satellite Industry Association sponsored Army Commercial SATCOM Users Workshop, an adjunct event to LandWarNet 2009.
Dan Losada, senior director of the Defense & Intelligence Systems Division at Hughes, will participate in a panel discussion on “Filling the Gap for Transitional Communications and Coalition Operations,” focusing on using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions to bridge the U.S. Army’s current communications structures and requirements in a transitional environment. Mr. Losada will discuss on-the-move applications and a new COTS technology jointly developed by Hughes and Ultra Electronics Tactical Communications
Systems (TCS) that offers integrated beyond-line-of-sight capabilities as part of a High
Capacity Line-of-Sight (HCLOS) communications solution for use in both mountainous and
urban areas. The presentation will be offered from 2:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m., August 17, 2009, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Hughes will also showcase its technologies and solutions for defense and intelligence applications at LandWarNet at Booth #1237.
