CapRock Communications has appointed Pal Jensen as president of the Maritime Division.
Jensen, a telecommunications industry veteran, moves into this role from his former position as the company’s vice president of Maritime Sales. In his new role, Jensen will oversee all aspects of the Commercial Maritime Division, including sales, solution design, and global service and support. Jensen replaces Tore Hilde who was the former president of Maritime. In 2006, CapRock formed the Maritime Division in Oslo, Norway, which was followed by the launch of SeaAccess Communications™, its maritime service line dedicated to serving the unique requirements of the commercial maritime market. The service provides always-on corporate networking and crew morale solutions enabling onboard personnel access to multi-line voice service with toll-quality connections, web and e-mail, and Internet VPN capabilities. Designed for vessels such as container ships, offshore support vessels, bulk carriers, cargo vessels and tankers, global (C-band) and regional (Ku-band) solutions serve vessels operating globally or operating in regional specific waters. CapRock leverages its 11 regional support centers and 24/7 help desk to provide local service and support. Since launching the service, CapRock has secured contracts with major shipping companies including NOR Offshore Ltd, Green Reefers, SeaBird Exploration, Seatrans AS and Höegh Fleet Services.
