Ka-band Solution Provided By Arrowhead

Arrowhead Global Solutions has been awarded a task order with an estimated life cycle value of US$11.5 million by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to provide space segment and operations and maintenance (O&M) support for the Global Broadcast Service (GBS) to deliver critical information to the warfighter. As CapRock Communications’ government-focused service, Arrowhead has been providing this type of mission-critical connectivity for close to 20 years, delivering end-to-end managed communication solutions to government customers around the world. As part of the award, Arrowhead will provide a Ka-band link and all related services to establish connectivity between U.S. Naval Station Rota, Spain, and navy surface ships, submarines, and land-based units operating in the Atlantic Ocean, European coastal areas, and Africa. The task order is part of Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Satellite Transmission Services - Global (DTST-G) contract, with a mission to provide sustainable, cost-effective commercial SATCOM services to the government. Three prime contractors were awarded the DSTS-G contract in 2001, designating Arrowhead as one of the approved providers of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) commercial SATCOM bandwidth and services. While previous contract awards under DSTS-G have been for C-, Ku- and X-band, this task order required a Ka-band solution.
