Intelek plc (AIM: ITK) designs and manufactures electronic systems and components for the satellite, wireless communications and defence sectors. The company has announced their wholly owned subsidiary, Paradise Datacom, has won a contract to supply their Evolution satellite modems for the first phase of a large mobile telephone network expansion project in Asia. The total project will require $1.3 million worth of modems to support satellite backhaul links in three phases before the end of March 2009. Paradise Datacom will be supplying their Evolution modems configured with some features specifically designed for cellular backhaul applications.
