Arianespace... Jean-Yves Le Gall To Continue To Lead The Company (Business)

[SatNews] Arianespace's Annual General Meeting of Shareholders was held on...

...Thursday, April 12th, in Evry, France. The meeting approved the company's financial statements for 2011 and also named a new Board of Directors, which renewed the appointment of Jean-Yves Le Gall as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The shareholders of Arianespace paid tribute to the perfect launch of the ATV3, Edoardo Amaldi, on March 23rd, which followed the successful first launch of Vega on February 13th. With these two launches the company started 2012 as it had finished 2011, with a string of successes.

Arianespace is a technical success, with 47 successful launches in a row of Ariane 5, over a period of nine years, plus the successful first launch of Soyuz from the Guiana Space Center (CSG) and the maiden launch of Vega. It is also a business success, with an order book now exceeding 4.7 billion euros, a new record, thanks to Ariane 5 and the successful introduction of Soyuz at CSG and Vega. Arianespace also enjoyed financial success, with renewed support for the launcher sector from the members of the European Space Agency (ESA).

The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders approved the financial statements for 2011, which showed net income of 1.6 million euros on sales of 1,012.6 million euros. The company's business is set to grow in 2012 with the concurrent operation of Ariane 5, Soyuz and Vega from the Guiana Space Center. Arianespace company information link.
