Ultra-High Definition (
UHD) video includes 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) and 8K (7680 x 4320 pixels) resolution, which is significantly higher than today’s 1080p HD resolution. UHD will first be seen in the cinema. Then, when the broadcast infrastructure is in place and consumers purchase new UHD TV sets, they will be able to see UHD programs at home.
