PCI Geomatics... Orthorectified + Mosaicked (Imagery)

[SatNews] PCI Geomatics has been awarded a contract to deliver a GeoImaging Accelerator (GXL) satellite processing system to China’s Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA).

The GXL system includes support for three commercial high resolution optical satellite sensors, and the ability to generate orthorectified tiled mosaic products at high speed using PCI’s multi-threaded and GPU enabled technology. The GXL-Satellite system will consist of locally procured off-the-shelf hardware integrated with PCI’s GeoImaging Accelerator-Satellite high volume multi-CPU/GPU production software. The complete system will enable the customer to transform uncorrected Level 1 frame based data from multiple satellite sensors into thousands of orthorectified and mosaicked products on a monthly basis. The adoption of PCI’s GXL system by IRSA underscores the need for high speed, automated image processing capability to help researchers focus on the development of new applications, freeing up resources that are typically applied towards time consuming image pre-processing tasks.
