The California Space Authority (CSA) will host the 2008 SpotBeam Awards on November 19, 2008, at The Proud Bird in Los Angeles, California. Celebrating its fifth year, the CSA SpotBeam Awards program highlights the significant accomplishments of individuals, organizations, and programs that contributed to the success of California space enterprise in 2008. Superintendent Jack O’Connell is expected to present the awards for the Awards in Excellence in Math and Science Teaching, while Lt. Governor John Garamendi will be honored for his leadership in promoting the space enterprise community at the state level. More than 100 Air Force commanders will also be in attendance at this event.
