MITEQ... RF Reveals (SATCOM)

[SatNews] MITEQ has debuted four new RF microwave component products. They include...

Coaxial and Compact Ka-Band Line AmplifierModel AMF-6F-17702200-50-17P has been added to MITEQ's family of Ka-band, single bias, coaxial line amplifiers. This LNA has more than 35dB of gain from 17 to 22.0GHz, in a housing that is only 0.72-inches long and 0.75-inches wide without the field replaceable K-connectors. Gain flatness is a maximum of 3.0dB peak-to-peak, though typical is less than 2.0dB. The AMF-6F-17702200-50-17P has a maximum noise figure of 5.0dB in the full band, though the typical value is less than 3dB. This unit operates from -40 to +75C of base temperature, has a P1dB minimum of +17dBm, output IP3 of typically +25dBm, and a current draw of maximum 300mA from a single +15V DC supply. Port VSWR is typically less than 2:1 for both input and output. Aluminum case provides excellent thermal characteristics. Features wider bandwidth and higher P1dB. Hermetic sealing and low noise figure options are available.

Four-Channel DownConverter ModelModel DA40218LC7 Four-Channel Downconverter integrates the Company's standard broadband double-balanced mixer designs and IF amplifiers to provide a phase and amplitude tracked 4-channel downconverter with an integrated LO distribution network. This unit can be used for basic direction finding experiments with four antennas. In addition, three of the four channels can also be used for a monopulse radar receiver and the fourth used for spur identification which makes this unit ideal for many radar and EW applications.

3W Wideband GaN PA 12V Operation and With Heat Sink With FansModel AMFG-3F-00030300-60-33P-HS-12V is another GaN power amplifier. High impedances of these devices allow for excellent port match and gain flatness over very wide bandwidths. Inherent robustness of the device technology enables these amplifiers to withstand very high base temperatures or surges in RF or DC power without compromising their reliability. A severe limitation has been the high voltage requirement that may be incompatible with many existing systems. Model AMFG-3F-00030300-60-33P-HS-12V incorporates an internal DC/DC converter which enables operation from 12V supply. It draws about 2A from a 12V supply at or near Psat. This model operates from 30 MHz to 3 GHz, has over 40dB gain, typical ±1.5 dB flatness, P1dB of over 33dBm and a Psat of 35dBm typical. IP3 is typically 40dBm. The AMFG-3F-00030300-60-33P-HS-12V comes with a heatsink and fans. It has a built-in over/reverse voltage, temperature and current protection. Port VSWRs are less than 2:1 for the whole band, and is able to withstand full reflection. The operational temperature range is -30 to +50°C ambient. Noise figure is 6 dB maximum. In the same footprint and outline, MITEQ offers other models covering 0.7-3.8 GHz at 36 dBm and others.

Weatherproof Ka-Band Low Noise AmplifierModel AMFW-7F-17702130-120-23P-WP is MITEQs newest addition to its family of high-performance waveguide LNAs. The Model AMFW-7F-17702130-120-23P-WP is a very low noise, high dynamic range weatherproof Ka-band front end, operating 17.7 to 21.3 GHz. With isolator protected and pressure sealed WR-42 waveguide input and K(F) connector output, in addition to being lightweight, this low-noise amplifier has a small profile and footprint. The aluminum alloy housing is sealed against most severe environmental conditions and also fully EMI shielded. This LNA includes reverse voltage, over current and over temperature protection in addition to full internal regulation. Total weight is approximately 800 grams, and dimensions are 156mm x 70mm x 51mm. The AMFW-7F-17702130-120-23P-WP has a minimum gain of 60 dB, flat to within ±1dB, and maximum noise temperature of 120 K° and is capable of a minimum of 23 dBm P1dB across the full band. Noise temperature will typically change with base temperature of the LNA at a rate of 0.28 K/°C. Output IP3 is 30 dBm minimum. Input and output port VSWR is a maximum of 1.25:1 and 1.5:1 respectively. Gain is stable to less than 0.4 dB/month. Total group delay is constant to less than 1 nsec over the full band. Current draw is nominally 700 mA from a single +12V to +24V supply. Other voltage ranges and alarm options are available. Operating temperature is -40 to +60?C case.
