atrexx On ITs Way With 2way2sat

atrexx has introduced Single Channel per Carrier (SCPC) satellite services on the 2way2sat platform to South America and the Caribbean.

SCPC is a satellite transmission system with a separate carrier for each channel, as opposed to frequency or time division multiplexing that combines many channels on a single carrier. atrexx’ IP access network provides dedicated bandwidth starting at 256kbps and including one IP address, with the option of additional IP addresses as required. All users have access to atrexx’ high-quality customer support and monitoring services. The system is quick to deploy: Users will be required to pay a one-off set-up fee followed by a simple monthly payment. The primary advantage of SCPC lies in the architecture, which allows the user to quickly set-up a satellite link (point-to-point or point-to-multipoint) without any need to gather other channels at the uplinking teleport. The incremental usage of the satellite transponder enables flexible expansion of the network. In terms of IP over Satellite, SCPC/SCPC transmission is the preferred choice for applications such as VoIP and VPN that are reliant on low latency. The missing multiplex on an SCPC network means that digital processing is straightforward, resulting in 150 milliseconds less latency compared to DVB/SCPC, making SCPC networks particularly suitable for corporate and other professional networks. The atrexx 2way2sat SCPC solution enables the provision of ubiquitous IP-based voice, data and video services to businesses at almost any location worldwide.
