..."anything in, anything out" encoding/transcoding platform for webTV, over-the-top (OTT) services, IPTV, and cable delivery. Introduced at NAB last year, Thomson Video Networks' ViBE VS7000 video system now provides a full range of Dolby audio technologies. Formerly available with AAC, HE-AAC, and MPEG-1 Layer II audio features, this versatile platform introduces Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital encoding and decoding, as well as Dolby Digital to Dolby Digital Plus transcoding, dramatically enriching the audio processing toolbox of the ViBE VS7000 with authentic surround sound capability.

Also new at NAB 2012 is support for MPEG-DASH on the ViBE VS7000. In addition to the streaming formats already available (Adobe® Flash®, Apple® HTTP Live Streaming, and Microsoft® Smooth Streaming), the ViBE VS7000 now offers the brand new MPEG-DASH (dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP) standard, the first version of which was ratified in November 2011. As a member of the DASH Promoters Group, Thomson Video Networks strongly believes this new standard will help to address the dramatic growth of Internet video delivery by defining a universal, standardized delivery format. Dolby has proposed extensions to the current standard in order to have DASH support Dolby Digital Plus, bringing the capability to deliver multichannel, high-quality audio to a broad range of connected devices. At NAB 2012, the ViBE VS7000 will be showcased on both the Thomson Video Networks and the Dolby booths, showing Dolby Digital Plus multichannel audio and MPEG-DASH streaming.
