Globecomm Systems Inc. has been awarded a managed network services contract from Indigo Wireless. Under the agreement, Globecomm will provide managed network services supporting subscribers in a rural GSM mobile network. The Company will provide its SatCell hosted switching, network management, and base station control services for Indigo’s network of GSM base stations and will offer a full range of services, including SMS, data, and E-911 to Indigo subscribers. SatCell provides carriers with the optimum mobile network for serving low-density markets, geographically isolated areas with limited duration demand.
