Minotaur V launch vehicle (Orbital) The U.S. Air Force has now ordered its first Minotaur V launch vehicle from Orbital Sciences Corp. — the launch vehicle will support satellite operations in higher-energy orbits. U.S. company Orbital was awarded the deal as part of its Orbital/Suborbital Program-2 contract administered by the Air Force's Space Development and Test Wing located at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico. This award marks the first Minotaur V launch vehicle ordered as part of the contract and will go to support NASA's Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer probe expected to orbit the Moon.
