Gefen... Konstructive KVMs (digiGO!™)

Gefen brings two new KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) extension solutions to NAB this year. The CAT5-1600HD and the CAT5-5600HD each extend high resolution displays using DVI along with hi-speed USB 2.0 peripherals up to 200 feet (60m) in distance. These new products replace existing models with a new method of extension, streamlining cabling while lengthening the extension distance. Both use a single CAT-6a cable for hi-res video in place of the previous two CAT-5/CAT-6 cables required, and expand the distance of hi-speed USB 2.0 peripherals to 300 feet. DVI video at 1920x1200 resolutions can reach 200 feet. Previous solutions were limited to 150 feet at this resolution. Another 50 feet for DVI and 150 feet for USB makes these products ideal for post production and broadcast markets, and anyone using Final Cut Pro, ProTools and AVID editing systems. The CAT5-1600HD extends one display with up to four peripherals using one dedicated cable (CAT-5/CAT-6) for peripherals and one CAT-6a cable for the display, using a total of two cables. The CAT5-5600HD extends two displays with up to four peripherals using one dedicated cable (CAT-5/CAT-6) for peripherals and two CAT-6a cables for both displays, using a total of three cables. This model is best suited for professionals working with an extended digital workspace as imagery is spread across both displays at the end location.
