COM DEV USA Is Certifiable (SAE AS9100)

COM Dev After careful planning and much work, COM DEV USA has received certification for SAE AS9100, the aerospace industry's quality system standard. This achievement signifies that COM DEV USA’s processes have been independently evaluated and that its operations in El Segundo can be expected to design and manufacture top quality products for U.S. civil and national security space missions.

Dan White, President of COM DEV USA, stated, “We had the AS9100 standards in mind when we formulated the business plan for COM DEV USA. All of our processes were developed around meeting these standards and providing a foundation for continuous improvement. Satellite manufacturers have been demanding their suppliers upgrade their quality management systems. We were able to incorporate AS9100 from the start and jump ahead of many competitors.”

AS9100 Certification The AS9100 is comprised of ISO 9001 quality system requirements supplemented by additional requirements established by the aerospace industry. The development of the supplemental requirements was the result of an international effort by aerospace companies with a common goal of establishing a single quality management system for use within the aerospace industry. Strict compliance to these standards or rules helps a company ensure that it consistently produces quality products, and that products are produced the same way, every time. COM DEV USA selected UL as its AS9100 registrar.
