21Net Trains to Get on Track

21NET 21Net, a European Internet operator specializing in broadband Internet access to trains via satellite communications, and UDcast, a global provider of wireless IP broadcast solutions, announced today the selection of UDcast as 21Net supplier for link Optimization of its Broadband to trains system.

21Net has chosen UDcast among other suppliers for its flexibility and capacity to adapt to 21Net’s specific requirements in the train environment. UDcast provides to 21Net its Protocol Acceleration, data compression with WANcompress® technology, as well as its Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms, in order to optimize the link utilization and user experience for Internet access on trains. This will further improve 21Net’s advance in providing true broadband connectivity to trains.

“UDcast’s Open Service Platform technology allowed us to adapt cost-efficiently and very quickly to 21Net’s transportation-specific requirements while building on our existing WAN Optimization and Extreme Data Compression technology core” said Antoine Clerget, CEO of UDcast. “We are extremely proud to have been selected by 21Net as their supplier and partner for WAN optimization, “21Net selected Udcast after a thorough review and testing of the available solutions”, said Jean-François de Lantsheere, CEO of 21Net. “We are convinced that incorporating the UDcast system will greatly enhance the flexibility and performance of the 21Net Broadband to Trains solution.”
