Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) has announced its Defense and Intelligence Systems Division (DISD) will participate in the Annual Army Commercial SATCOM Users' Workshop, which is an adjunct event to LandWarNet 2011 and hosted by the Satellite Industry Association (SIA). Rick Lober, vice president and general manager of DISD, will participate in a panel on SATCOM Support for Situational Awareness: Standards and Requirements. Mr. Lober will discuss trends in situational awareness mission requirements, with a focus on airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) efforts for the warfighter. He will also address interoperability issues for multinational defense and peacekeeping efforts. The discussion will run from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m., August 22, 2011, at the Tampa Convention Center, Tampa, Florida
Additionally, Hughes will showcase its technologies for the defense and intelligence communities at LandWarNet 2011 in Booth 745. On-site technologies will include satellite solutions with enhanced security options, including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2, Security Level 2 certification, and those undergoing Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) certification.
