Thrane & Thrane... AVIATOR Takes Flight In Middle East (SATCOM)


[SatNews] Thrane & Thrane has presented its new AVIATOR Wireless Handset to the Middle East business aviation market, for the first time, at this year's MEBA.

Designed specifically for in-flight communications, the Thrane & Thrane AVIATOR Wireless Handset offers users a range of advanced features for voice and data communications, neatly packaged within an easy-to-use and stylish unit. Anyone aboard the aircraft can use the compact and lightweight AVIATOR Wireless Handset to make and receive in-flight calls. The solution provides an extensive range of innovative features which includes echo and noise cancellation to ensure unmatched audio quality. The handset's highly intuitive user interface, tactile controls and 2.2" TFT color screen, offer a design similar to that of cell or mobile phones, making it exceptionally easy for users to operate. The handset connects through a wireless access point to the aircraft's AVIATOR SwiftBroadband system for users to make calls over the IP based network. The solution is charged with a purpose-built battery charging cradle, installed in the aircraft cabin and powered by the aircraft's own power supply. When fully charged via the cradle, the handset is able to remain charged in standby mode for over 24 hours.
