NewSat Limited (ASX: NWT; OTC: NWTLY), Australia’s satellite company, has appointed Michael Hewins as Chief Operating Officer. Michael will play a pivotal role in developing NewSat's future growth objectives and fulfilling the Company's vision of becoming a customer-focused, leading global satellite operator. Mr. Hewins has more than 30 years of experience in the space industry, focused primarily on risk management and launch insurance, giving him a unique understanding of the critical success factors of satellite companies. Michael was the Chairman and CEO of AstroVision International, Inc., before taking the helm of AstroVision Australia. He received his law degree from Suffolk University and has worked on global strategy, business development and insurance matters for the space industry with AON, Willis Corroon Inspace, Johnson & Higgins, INTEC and Arianespace. As Chief Operating Officer, Michael Hewins will provide extensive experience and leadership across the breadth of NewSat’s business from strategy to operations and productivity. Michael's process-minded approach and vast satellite industry experience will deliver measurable, cost-effective results to drive the realisation of NewSat's vision of becoming a leading global satellite operator.
