Thales Assists In Operation With Israel Aerospace to Deliver Amos

AMOS Thales Alenia Space has contracted with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Ltd, for the development, the delivery and the installation of elements in the Amos-4 Ground Segment. Slated for launch in 2012, Amos-4 will also expand the operator's range of Ku- and Ka-band capacity to provide high-quality communications and broadcasting transmission services. After Amos-1, Amos-2, Amos-3 payloads delivery and the contract signature earlier this year to supply RF communication assemblies for the Amos-4 communication satellite, Thales Alenia Space strengthens its long-time successful partnership with IAI.

AMOS Beam coverage This ground contract and the proposed solution are based on Thales Alenia Space products for Ground Mission Segment composed of:
  • Payload Traffic Manager (PTM) for optimized frequency allocation into transponders, accurate link budget calculation and traffic plan generation.
  • In Orbit Test System (IOT) for telecommunication payload testing after launch.
  • Communication System Monitoring (eCSM) for traffic monitoring using powerful and high speed digital spectrum analyser, the Telecom Carrier Analyzer (TCA).
  • Stations Monitoring & Control (Space M&C) for local and remote operation of TT&C station.

  • Besides being a telecommunication satellite and payload manufacturer, Thales Alenia Space is also a supplier of complete ground systems, and has been awarded equivalent contracts for several operators in this past year: Indosat (Indonesia), Korea Telecom (South Korea), Nilesat (Egypt), RSCC (Russia), RCSC (Kazakhstan), Arabsat (Saudi Arabia), Yahsat (United Arab Emirates), and France Telecom (France).
