Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) has announced that Rick Lober, vice president and general manager, Defense and Intelligence Systems Division, will speak on a military forum session during SATELLITE 2011 focused on commercial satellite capabilities for government/defense communications-on-the-move (COTM). The company will also present live demonstrations of its COTM technologies with enhanced security optimized for defense and intelligence agencies, allowing for global communications over-the-horizon. The presentation will occur on Wednesday, March 16th, from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m. Mr. Lober will discuss net-centric, bandwidth efficient options for the military and homeland defense needs in theater and at home, as well as future trends in COTM.
In addition, Hughes will showcase its technologies and solutions for defense and government applications at booth #701 and outdoor exhibit space #OE 16. The Hughes SATCOM-on-the-move vehicle will be available for demonstrations with a live video feed to the indoor booth space via its HX280 broadband satellite router, which is validated with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 Security Level 2, which features star and mesh capabilities and Enhanced Signaling Security compliant with transmission security (TRANSEC) requirements. HX ExpertNMS™, the HX System’s advanced network management system with an intuitive user interface, will also be on display.
