Chavez Confident Of Satellite Launch For Venezuela

Chavez and satellite During his "Alo, Presidente" radio program early last week, Hugo Chavez, the purported leader of Venezuela, stated the Simon Bolivar satellite will be lifted into orbit on November 2nd. Built in China, the satellite retains the moniker of a Venezuelan hero who helped gain independence for Latin America. The satellite's "stated" purpose is as a comsat for TV and Internet access, with a footprint able to access other countries in Latin America in addition to Venezuela. Chavez thanked the guest on his radio program, Zhang Tuo, who is China's Ambassador to Venezuela. To ensure all can hear his words of wisdom, "Alo, Presidente" will be broadcast via the Simon Bolivar comsat starting in November.
