Applied Satellite Technology... Perish Prevention In Irish + UK Waters (CONTRACT—SLA)

[SatNews] Applied Satellite Technology (AST) today agreed to a new Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) as the Installation and Technical Support partner for MOB Guardian. The new SLA details AST as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for all installation, technical help desk, and customer service issues related to the RNLI’s MOB Guardian safety system.

The MOB Guardian system was developed by the RNLI charity to reduce the risk of fishermen in the UK and Irish waters who perish every year. Providing a vital service, it is important that a high standard of support is provided by AST as the system provides a life saving service. AST, in conjunction with RNLI, arrange installation of MOB Guardian by an approved engineer and will aim to complete the installation, in line with the standards set out in the new SLA. When a fault is suspected, AST will liaise directly with the vessel owner to identify any faulty component and arrange for a replacement part to be supplied as soon as possible to ensure the continuing functionality of the MOB Guardian. As part of the new SLA, AST also provides a helpdesk service via their Customer Service team, the helpdesk and engineering resource are competent in resolving operating problems with MOB Guardian and identifying and advising solutions. AST’s customer support is manned from 8:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. (UK local time) Mon-Fri, with an emergency, out of house service available.
