Newtec Signs And Celebrates Asian Anniversary

[SatNews] Newtec celebrates a decade and joins a Council.

Newtec has marked 10-years in Asia by today announcing that it has joined the Asia Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC) as a member. APSCC is a non-profit international organization representing all sectors of satellite and space related industries, including private companies, government ministries and agencies, and academic and research entities. The overall objective of APSCC is to promote communications and broadcasting via satellite as well as outer space activities in the Asia-Pacific, for the socio-economic and cultural development of the region.

Newtec has recently augmented and re-organized its team in Asia and has offices in Singapore and Beijing in order to direct more focus towards its products and solutions in the region. Recently appointed Vice President Sales for Asia, Anver Anderson, is optimistic about the prospects the region holds for the company: “We have established an excellent team here in Asia. The support team is already in the process of expanding, which will serve to further improve our local capabilities. We have managed to increase our sales base and customer support in the region as part of our long term growth strategy for Asia.”

Yutaka Nagai, President of APSCC said: “APSCC is delighted to welcome Newtec into the organization. Newtec is a progressive, exciting, innovative company and technology leader in the satellite industry. We look forward to their contribution to APSCC activities.”

After a decade of activity in the Asian region, Newtec has increased their reseller base and the company is now ready to become more firmly established in the region. Serge Van Herck, CEO of Newtec commented: “This was the right time for Newtec to join APSCC. We have built a firm foundation in the Far East and we now want to build upon this to strengthen our presence in the region. Newtec’s involvement with APSCC will enable us to build new relationships and gain further knowledge of the satellite and space industry in the region. We are proud to be members of such an organization”.

APSCC links its members together to exchange views on satellite-related policies, technologies, systems, and services in the region. Members include satellite manufacturers, launch service providers, satellite service providers and satellite risk management companies, telecom carriers, and broadcasters from Asia, Europe and North America.
