Telefonica del Peru is using 33 megahertz of capacity aboard the NSS-10 satellite to deliver corporate voice and data solutions as well as broadband and mobile phone services to businesses and consumers in Peruvian towns and communities, many that are virtually inaccessible via terrestrial networks. The use of GSM backhaul over satellite is also enabling Telefonica del Peru to extend the capabilities of its metropolitan networks to remote locations, effectively eliminating the geographical barriers and prohibitive costs of the past. NSS-10 is also capable of providing links to other regional satellite systems. Located at 322.5 degrees East, NSS-10 is delivering high-powered C-band capacity providing service with higher data throughput to smaller antennas with unsurpassed levels of reliability — even in areas of high rain zones.
