SDL App Cavity Filtering, Of The X-Band Variety

MtronPTI homepage MtronPTI has introduced a new series of X-Band Cavity Filters designed, qualified and manufactured specifically for Satellite Data Link applications. The extremely high frequency devices, capable of operating in the 7.5 to 9 GHz range, have been designated the Model UF9138 Series. This series operates as a bandpass filter which attenuates the unwanted signals and passes the desired signals. Earlier in the year, MtronPTI announced it had active projects with 12 industry leaders involved with this sector, including Northrop Grumman, Boeing Space Systems, L-3, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and others. The new product series is capable of operating in the range of 7.5 to 9 GHz and can be configured with 5 to 10 pole design topologies, offering a wide range of attenuation performance. MtronPTI's proprietary temperature compensation technique ensures that this product line delivers less than 1 MHz of drift on an 8 GHz device operating over a temperature range of -35 degrees C to +85 degrees C. The X-Band Cavity Filters are housed in a laser-welded, 2.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 inch package with SMA connectors. They feature a highly symmetrical 3 dB passband of 300 MHz with low ripple and group delay variation.
