C-COM... iNetVu Integration In Argentina (SATCOM)

iNetVu antennas for Argentinia deployment
[SatNews] C-COM’s dealer Telespazio Argentina has signed a 1.3 million dollar contract with the Ministry of Interior, Argentina, to provide Mobile Tele-offices equipped with the auto-pointing iNetVu(r) antenna systems.

This project, presented in May during the celebrations of the Argentinean Bicentenary, has driven the Ministry to integrate permanently Teleoffice in its structure, selecting Telespazio as official provider of the system. The contract includes the provision and installation of 24 automatic iNetVu® antennas providing satellite-based Internet connection to these mobile units owned by the Ministry. These units, that will cover the whole of Argentina from the Land of Fire to the border with Bolivia, are fully equipped to facilitate the work of the employees of the Ministry, who will collect personal details of population in the selected areas and transmit them by satellite to the central station. This information (digital fingerprints and picture in AFIS format, signature and digital birth certificate) will be used to elaborate the identity documents, which will be directly sent to the home address of the applicants.

Satellite-based iNetVu antennas will be used as a back up for places with grounding wire and as a principal connection in areas deprived of it. Thus, the units will be able to move and offer the services all over the country, resolving connectivity problems where terrestrial networks do not exist or fail. This solution is addressed to the citizens who live in remote areas, who, thanks to Teleoffice service, will have the chance to apply for identity card without travelling vast distances to get to the appropriate ministerial offices.
