Hughes Network Systems... @ CommunicAsia2013 With... (Event—Technology + Products)

[SatNews] Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES) will showcase its latest technology innovations during the CommunicAsia 2013 conference and exhibition, June 18-21, 2013, at the Marina Bay Sands.

Additionally, Hughes will host its annual regional technology breakfast seminar on Wednesday, June 19th.

This year’s seminar will feature the latest advances in Ka-band, high-throughput satellite technology, and the recently announced HN9600 and HN9800 Ka-band satellite routers which incorporate the same JUPITER technology that is the cornerstone of HughesNet® Gen4 high-speed satellite Internet service in the U.S. The world’s largest Ka-band service, HughesNet serves approximately 700,000 subscribers and offers speeds from 10 Mbps up to 15 Mbps.

“Ka-band represents the next frontier in broadband, enabling operators to offer a wide range of multi-Mbps service plans for consumer and enterprise applications,” said Ramesh Ramaswamy, vice president of Sales and Marketing, International Division at Hughes. “Our proven Ka-band technology in the form of the HN9600 and HN9800 is the ideal answer to the ongoing price vs. performance challenge faced by operators, delivering a rapid return on their investment and a superior broadband experience to customers.”

Featuring a compact, integrated external radio unit with a single IFL cable for easy and rapid installation, both the HN9600 and HN9800 support the most bandwidth-demanding services offered on the latest generation of Ka-band satellites. The new routers are fully compliant with the industry-leading IPoS/DVB-S2 standard for optimized delivery of broadband services over satellite channels. One of the first international service providers to offer the new routers is Yahsat on its Yahclick service in the Middle East, Africa, and SW Asia.

Ideal for enterprises of all sizes, the HN9800 incorporates innovative LDPC coding for superior router performance and bandwidth efficiency. It also includes many WAN optimization features such as TCP and HTTP acceleration, DNS caching, and strong data compression that significantly improves the end-user’s web browsing experience. Incorporating powerful on-demand streaming capabilities for high-quality Voice-over-IP (VoIP) traffic, the versatile HN9600 is the market’s most cost-effective, high-speed modem for consumer and small office installations.

The company’s roadmap of future development will also be presented, including its recently announced plan to launch JUPITER 2/EchoStar XIX in mid-2016, with more than150 Gbps of capacity to further power growth of HughesNet broadband Internet service in North America.

Hughes will be presenting a series of technology workshops on various aspects of VSAT networking in its hospitality suite, Begonia 3310, Level 3 at the CommunicAsia conference venue between 18 June and 20 June. These workshops are especially relevant to VSAT service operators, VNO service providers, enterprise IT staff, telecommunications carriers, cellular operators, oil & gas IT staff, and military and paramilitary IT staff. Hughes will also host private meetings in the suite. Anyone interested in attending a workshop or arranging for a private meeting, please send email to [email protected] to register/schedule.

Mr. Dave Rehbehn, senior director of International Marketing at Hughes, will be participating on a panel Tuesday, 18 June, entitled “Reinventing the Satellite Business by Commercializing Ka-band Satellites―Examining the Outlook, Opportunities and Implications” at 14:40 hours.
