UltiSat... Afghan Accommodations (SATCOM)


[SatNews] Additional SATCOM support is going to be provided to the U.S. Army in Afghanistan.

UltiSat Inc., a provider of satellite communications infrastructure, services, and teleport facilities, has been awarded a major contract to support users at U.S. Army nodes throughout Afghanistan. Under the terms of the contract, UltiSat provides voice over IP (VoIP), Internet, and secure (IPSEC) data transport services to more than 40 forward operating bases (FOBs) throughout Afghanistan. Using iDirect’s Evolution 5IF hub and single channel per carrier (SCPC) platforms, UltiSat provides turnkey broadband satellite and network services via two satellites through its strategically located hub in Denmark. In addition, UltiSat provides design and engineering of the network and all remote sites, installation, information-technology services, in-theater personnel for operations and maintenance in Afghanistan, integrated logistics service, 24x7 network support and help desk, and in-country training at all remote sites.
