[SatNews] The country's state-run telecom company has made their selection...
Hughes Network Systems, LLC, has been awarded a contract with Iseyco Ecuador, a major systems integrator and reseller in Ecuador, to supply its advanced HN System, including a 9-meter earth station and 1,500 remote terminals. The Hughes technology will power delivery of high-speed Internet access and voice services across Ecuador under Iseyco’s multi-million dollar contract received from the Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT), Ecuador’s state-run telecommunications operator. The HN broadband satellite system is fully compliant with the global IPoS/DVB-S2 standard, including ACM (adaptive coding and modulation) and is designed to support a wide range of bandwidth-intensive services. Hughes was the first company to implement DVB-S2 with ACM, the most efficient implementation available, which yields up to 50 percent greater throughput over the original DVB-S standard.
