Yahsat Sub Signs On To YahClick IEC Telecom


Yahsat homepage banner Star Satellite Communications Company PrJsc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) signed an agreement with IEC Telecom, an established provider of satellite-based internet services. As part of the service agreement, IEC Telecom will roll out “YahClick” — Yahsat’s satellite broadband service — within the YahClick footprint, which covers 24 countries in Africa, the Middle East, and South West Asia. IEC Telecom will provide YahClick service to enterprise customers such as NGOs, oil and gas and other multinational companies.

YahClick will offer broadband via satellite, to deliver reliable, high-speed internet connectivity for home users and businesses in areas with limited or no internet access, at costs comparable to terrestrial services. This will be provided by Y1B, Yahsat’s second satellite which will be launched in the second half of 2011.
