Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a National Security Solutions provider, announced its RT Logic subsidiary has launched the newest addition to its precision channel simulation product family, the satID® GeoSim Geolocation Simulator, an essential tool for military and commercial SATCOM. satID GeoSim is a first of its kind geolocation training and test system for satellite operators to aggressively protect the performance and function of critical SATCOM links.
satID GeoSim creates the Radio Frequency (RF) signals that occur when a satellite encounters hostile jamming or other interference. It is seamlessly integrated with industry-leading RF interference management products from Kratos’ SAT subsidiary, Monics® for interference monitoring and satID® for geolocation. satID GeoSim injects real signals that represent any combination of satellites, worldwide ground locations, RF bands and global reference emitter locations.
satID GeoSim enables geolocation professionals to train anywhere and anytime without having to wait for actual interference to occur. This flexibility lets satID GeoSim dramatically sharpen geolocation techniques and knowledge, resulting in faster and more accurate detection, diagnosis, location and mitigation of SATCOM link interference.
“Our dependence on military and commercial SATCOM for mission-critical communications and data transport has never been higher,” said Steve Williams, Business Area Manager at RT Logic. “satID GeoSim is a powerful new tool for cost effectively training operators for faster and more accurate detection, characterization, location and removal of interference.”
satID GeoSim is based on RT Logic’s precision channel simulation technology. It enables operators to easily select ground locations for transmission and reception sites, choose satellites, enter antenna pattern information and generate protected, interference and reference signals. satID GeoSim provides simple setup, full motion displays, and advanced underlying hardware and software physics engines.
satID GeoSim can also be used as a geolocation system self-test solution, assuring constant peak performance of vital link protection systems, and as a robust pre-mission simulator to anticipate, plan and design against interference scenarios. satID GeoSim is part of the satID family of interference geolocation solutions from SAT. satID is the premier all-in-one solution for locating and identifying sources of SATCOM interference due to equipment failure, operator error, intentional jamming or unauthorized users.
satID GeoSim and satID will be demonstrated in the Kratos booth #4024 at the Satellite 2013 exhibition, March 19-21, 2013, in Washington D.C., and at the National Space Symposium 2013, booth # 408, April 8-11, 2013, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
