BAE Systems Praying For Clear Skies For Mantis UAV Reveal In India


Mantis UAV (BAE Systems) Mantis, an autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by BAE Systems, will make its featured debut at the Aero India 2009, held in Bangalore, India, starting on February 11.

A full size Mantis and Herti (another UAV) will be displayed outside the BAE Systems pavilion. The Mantis UAV advanced concept technology demonstrator program brings together technologies, capabilities, and systems will be demonstrated by the Company at the event. BAE Systems is expected to have its largest ever presence at Aero India, an event it has attended every year since its inception and their theme is Autonomy — specifically, autonomous air vehicles. Inside the pavilion, BAE Systems will be displaying products from across its aerospace product family, including Typhoon and Hawk, as well as some products not displayed in India before, such as special seating for helicopters that protect aircrew from spinal injuries in crashes and hard landing.
