[SatNews] This new product can, according to the Company, reduce costly development time...
Integral Systems, Inc., (Nasdaq:ISYS) announced the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Newpoint Technologies, has released COMPASS SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) Manager. The new tool eliminates costly development time when interfacing the COMPASS Network Management System (NMS) with SNMP-enabled equipment. COMPASS SNMP Manager makes it simple and even more cost efficient to manage both SNMP-enabled and non-SNMP enabled equipment from a single NMS. Increased efficiency eliminates the costly learning curve for operators and administrators, delivering complete network status and situational awareness from a single source. In addition to cost savings, COMPASS SNMP Manager provides an array of tools that increase network efficiency, decrease network down time and simplify network management. For example, COMPASS SNMP Manager eliminates costly and tedious development cycles by automatically discovering SNMP-enabled equipment and allowing administrators to quickly ingest all or part of the Object Identifiers OIDs comprising the Management Information Base MIB. COMPASS SNMP Manager even builds out the device detailed pages in COMPASS TrueNorth's Graphical User Interface (GUI), thereby eliminating screen development time. Users can quickly and easily create custom displays by "dragging and dropping" SNMP-enabled screen components onto displays delivering on-demand access to SNMP data, while simultaneously minimizing network traffic. COMPASS SNMP Manager helps operators identify network failure causes more quickly. The tool sorts and filters traps received from SNMPequipment. To further reduce network down-time and eliminate costly troubleshooting, COMPASS SNMP Manager quickly generates rules to filter traps and automatically recover from network failures using pre-determined policies.
