GeoEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: GEOY) has announced results for its fiscal second quarter ended June 30, 2009.
Total revenues were $72.7 million for the second quarter of 2009, a 112 percent increase from $34.2 million for the second quarter of 2008. Net income for the second quarter of 2009 was $9.6 million, or $0.46 per fully diluted share, compared to a net loss of $558,000, or ($0.03) per fully diluted share, for the second quarter of 2008. Revenues related to contracts with the U.S. Government, the Company's largest customer, were $47.5 million for the second quarter of 2009, representing 65.3 percent of total revenues for the period. Domestic revenues were $50.4 million for the second quarter of 2009, which were 69.4 percent of total revenues for the period. International revenues were $22.3 million for the second quarter of 2009, which were 30.6 percent of total revenues for the period. Domestic revenues increased 173.3 percent for the second quarter of 2009 compared to the same period in 2008, and international revenues increased 41.2 percent for the second quarter of 2009 compared to the same period in 2008.
