The latest one million subscribers were gained in just over seven months. Using technology from NDS, Tata Sky has enhanced television viewing for Indian audiences. The platform is protected and powered by an end-to-end NDS solutions suite that includes VideoGuard® conditional access system (CAS), MediaHighway® middleware, an advanced electronic program guide (EPG), as well as market-leading XTV™ technology for Digital Video Recorder (DVR). In addition, the wide range of multi-level interactive games provided by NDS has proven to be popular with subscribers. Tata Sky launched its DTH satellite pay-TV service in August 2006 and reached one million connections in just 11 months. Tata Sky then took only another nine months to reach the two million connections mark and in less than three years it has reached the four million connections milestone.
