Using multi-spot beam technologies, they are creating opportunities to cost-effectively compete with high-speed terrestrial broadband for consumer, government and enterprise services.
SATCON: Disaster Response: The Role of Satellite Communications Wednesday, November 14: 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.: Tony Bardo, assistant vice president of Government Markets, will participate on a panel exploring three aspects of the emergency preparedness challenge—the development of rapidly deployable disaster recovery networks; an upgrade path to support medium and long-term development requirements; and closer co-ordination among decision-makers.
Keynote Panel: The Future of Satellite Communications: New Developments, New Technologies and New Markets Thursday, November 15: 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.: Pradman Kaul, President of Hughes, will participate on a panel of industry leaders to discuss trends for the future of the satellite communications market. He will discuss recent developments such as the HughesNet® Gen4 high-speed Internet service for the consumer market, powered by the EchoStar XVII satellite with JUPITER™ high-throughput technology, one of the highest throughput Ka-band satellites ever built.

...IG Telecom, headquartered in Libreville, Gabon, has selected the Hughes HN broadband satellite solution to expand its services throughout the Central African nation and surrounding countries.
IG Telecom will employ the Hughes HN System comprising a Network Operations Center (NOC) and up to 2,000 HN9260 routers to expand high-speed satellite Internet and VoIP service to homes and small-to-medium business (SMBs) in under-served areas of Gabon and neighboring countries. In addition, Hughes customized the antenna solution to include a dual LNB, which enables IG Telecom to deliver a triple play offering including the French DTH television service Canal +.
