Cubic Defense Applications... Driving Data Links (MilSatCom)

[SatNews] This new offering operates in multiple RF bands...

Cubic Defense Applications, a defense systems business unit of Cubic Corporation, has introduced a new digital data link that operates in multiple radio frequency (RF) bands and can be used throughout the world by matching the available portion of spectrum.

Cubic’s Multiband Miniature Transceiver (MMT) transfers voice, data and imagery between air and ground platforms and possesses the extra advantage of removable encryption. Specifically designed to be interoperable with most intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems, the MMT receives and transmits video and telemetry data across five frequency bands – Ku, C, S, L and UHF – at data rates from 200 Kbps to 45 Mbps. At 23 cubic inches, the MMT can fit in a shirt pocket and weighs less than 1.7 pounds. This makes it easy to incorporate into an air or ground platform. The MMT also has minimal power requirements. Cubic developed the MMT to meet the growing operational requirement for multiband units with removable encryption. The Spanish government has ordered the new digital data link and Cubic expects to announce other orders in the near term.
