The World Teleport Association has introduced its new Technology Discount Center program, bringing the products and services of leading member technology vendors to teleport operator members at a discount. The Technology Discount Center is a portal to the products, systems and integration services of the most innovative suppliers in the satellite uplinking industry. It is also the point of access to post-sale discounts, available only to WTA members, on the purchase of their technology. Through arrangements with participating technology providers within the association, WTA offers its teleport-operator members an after-sale discount of up to US$1000 per year per vendor on the purchase of technology products.

“The Technology Discount Center was born out of the need to improve the bottom line for teleport operators, who are major consumers of communications technology," said WTA Executive Director Robert Bell. “We are excited about this new program.” Advantech Wireless, Comtech EF Data and Newtec have agreed to become the first three member providers to teleports through the WTA program. The benefits to WTA members include exposure to new technologies and, of course, significant savings, according to WTA.
