Advantech Wireless... All About ASO (Hardware)

[SatBroadcasting(tm)] Advantech Wireless has recently completed the signing of agreements via its distributor CVS Engineering with TDF SAS, TowerCast and ITAS-Tim for the supply of its SBD-75e combined DVB-S and DVB-S2 demodulators.

These are used in the Analogue Switch Off (ASO) project across France, known as the TNT network. As the country continues to move to a fully digital terrestrial television system under the project overseen by the French broadcasting regulator, the Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel (CSA), the equipment will be used to extend the distribution network for supplying content to the terrestrial transmitter sites (currently about 2,000). Assisted by its local partner and distributor CVS Engineering, Advantech was awarded this multi-million dollar project due to product performance and full technical compliance with the requirements, providing a feature-rich and flexible solution for the long term. Equipment installation began a few months ago and will continue through to 2012. Advantech are already providing equipment for a similar DTT project in the UK.
