XipLink has received the prestigious 2009 Frost & Sullivan North America Technology Innovation Award in the field of Military Satellite Network Optimization, specifically with the release of XipLink Optimization Software (XipOS) version 3.0.

Frost & Sullivan’s Technology Innovation Award is bestowed upon a company or individual that has carried out new research resulting in innovation(s) that have or are expected to bring significant contributions to the industry in terms of adoption, change, and competitive posture. The Frost & Sullivan Award recognizes XipLink’s considerable efforts in developing an innovative and versatile solution that offers significant and varied benefits for military satellite network operations. The innovative XipLink 3.0 Software release combines exceptional bandwidth optimization capabilities with a new Quality of Service (QoS) engine that operates on logical wireless network queues, supporting multiple wireless networks from a single hub appliance, and delivering bandwidth gains exceeding 200 percent for most users. For instance, many military and commercial network operators support both an MSS service, running nominally at 400 Kbps and multi-megabit services on VSAT. The new XipOS 3.0 release allows simultaneous use of hub resources by establishing queuing classes for each logical wireless network and by applying XipLink’s industry leading congestion control algorithms to each connection. XipOS software is tightly coupled with kernel memory, and with the 3.0 release, it can now leverage recent multi-processor and memory innovations to operate at very high data rates, beyond 155Mbps with very high session counts as well as operating in very small devices with limited CPU or memory.
