DISH Network... Dishing Up Congratz + New HD Highlights (SatBroadcasting™)


DISH Network L.L.C. issued the following statement today about the passage of the Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act of 2010: "DISH Network congratulates Congress on passing the landmark Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act of 2010 (STELA), clearing the way for DISH Network to become the first pay-TV provider to make local broadcast stations available in every television market in the United States."

The Company also added five new channels to its HD lineup of more than 200 channels: DIY HD and Investigation Discovery HD; movie channel EPIX 2 HD; and Spanish-language channels Telefutura HD and Univision HD. In fact, DISH Network became the first and only company to launch all three Univision networks in HD — Univision HD, TeleFutura HD and Galavisión HD. DISH Network is also launching Univision and TeleFutura local stations in HD to deliver the most complete high definition coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup(tm) South Africa. Univision HD and TeleFutura HD are available today and Galavisión HD arrives in early June.
