Yamal-201 Now Beams Turkmen Music For Appreciation


Yamal-201 satellite The 24-hour TV channel, Turkmen ovazy (Turkmen melodies), has initiated broadcasting their programming via the Yamal-201 satellite, operated by Russian company Gazprom Space Systems.

This is already the fifth Turkmen channel broadcasted via the Yamal-201 satellite and was added to the 24-hour tourist channel Turkmenistan broadcasts in six languages and to the three national TV channels Altyn Asyr (Golden Age), Yashlyk (Youth) and Miras (Heritage). The cooperation between Gazprom Space Systems (formerly known as Gascom) and the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan started as early as 2000 when four Turkmen channels were uplinked to the Yamal-100 satellite.
