The project, worth 300 million euros (420 million dollars), was expected to create 1,000 jobs in Spain, according to government sources. At a joint press conference, Zapatero and Stoltenberg stressed the solid military cooperation between their countries, with the Spanish shipbuilder Navantia having providing a new frigate for the Norwegian navy in 2009. The two leaders pledged to work together to press for what Stoltenberg described as an “ambitious” global agreement on measures to control climate change by the end of the year.
