Latitude Technologies... Chopper Approvals


Latitude Technologies announced their SkyNode® S100-001 satellite based tracking/messaging device has received Transport Canada Supplemental Type Certificate number “SH10-16” covering Bell Helicopter Textron models 206, 206A, 206A1, 206B, 206B1, 206L, 206L1, 206L3, 206L4 and 407. Also included in this new STC are Eurocopter models AS350B, B1, B2, B3, BA, D, D1, AS355E, AS355F, AS355F1, AS355F2, AS355N, and AS355NP, effectively providing a certification base for most of the intermediate helicopters in operation today.


The SkyNode® S100-001 is the smallest and lightest field proven tracking and data telemetry device in the industry. It provides security and crew safety for air/ground logistics applications anywhere in the world with interfaces available to multiple mapping and information management systems. The S100-001 exceeds Forestry AFF live tracking requirements, provides reliable 2-way data networking/messaging, is remotely configurable, provides data logging and event triggering from external switches/buttons and is equipped with an internal fast-fix 20 channel WAAS GPS receiver. In addition, auxiliary GPS serial data outputs for Moving Map, Electronic Flight Bag and 406 ELT’s are provided. Standard features also include OOOI flight schedule reporting, an internal G-Switch for automatic anomaly reporting, auxiliary backup battery option and is Bambi Bucket® Mission Tracker and Latitude Air Tanker Information System™ (ATIS) compatible.
