Entone... Hybrid Help (Hardware)

[SatBroadcasting(tm)] Entone, Inc. has unveiled the Janus Media Hub, a multi-stream hardware platform that delivers Hybrid TV services over IP and traditional broadcast networks.

By deploying Janus, service operators can offer consumers the best of live HDTV and web media services from a single device. Janus Media Hub is a powerful platform that enables live HDTV reception and recording from a variety of IP and broadcast sources and provides access to a growing array of online services, such as video on demand (VOD), music streaming, photo sharing, social media, and other popular web applications. Building on Entone’s Hydra IP Video Gateway platform, Janus offers simultaneous decoding of multiple video streams, in HD and SD formats. It also supports a variety of popular in-home networking options such as coax, Ethernet, phone lines, power line, and wireless (802.11n). Janus provides digital HDTV reception from IP networks or from a variety of broadcast sources via its integrated dual tuner and dual demodulator options (ATSC, DVB-S2, and QAM). Janus supports whole-home DVR and media sharing throughout the home without separate set-tops at each TV set. Users can independently record, pause, play, rewind, and fast-forward live or recorded programming from any TV within their home. With just a single Janus device, users can also conveniently access recorded content and access their personal photos, music and videos from multiple TVs throughout their home. Janus brings it all together through a unified user experience. Janus is currently deployed worldwide by numerous operators and is available immediately.
