AsiaSat And Digital Magic Magically Create Informative Content For 4K-SAT Channel

Not everyone understands how a satellite is used, how it serves people, and how it works, therefore two companies, Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat) and Digital Magic, a provider of advanced imaging solutions collaborated to co-produce UltraHD (UHD) content for AsiaSat’s UHD channel ‘4K-SAT’, on AsiaSat 4 at 122 degrees E.

The result is a co-production that includes a knowledge-based UHD mini-series about satellite communications.  The programs provide an easy-to-understand introduction to topics such as how a satellite works, how it serves people and how it is used in broadcasting high quality content.

4K, also known as UHD, is a picture technology that quadruples the number of pixels found in a full HD picture. With 4K, pixels are usually arranged in a 3,840 x 2,160 configuration, compared with the 1920 x1080 found in a full HD TV.

AsiaSat’s ‘4K-SAT’ channel currently broadcasts a variety of full UHD content. Major TV operators in the Asia-Pacific have access to it via AsiaSat 4.
