Envivio... @ SCTE Cable-Tech Expo With...

[SatBroadcasting(tm)] Envivio will unveil its new Envivio Genesis(tm) architecture for video head ends and Content Delivery Networks (CDN) at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo (booth 1537) Oct. 20-22 in New Orleans. The visionary new solution relies on two essential components: the Envivio multi-screen head end for high quality audio/video processing and compression, and the Envivio Network Media Processors (NMP) in charge of packaging, encryption and distribution inside the CDN. The encoded media is delivered from the head end to the NMPs in the intermediate Envivio Genesis mezzanine format, enabling operators to use a single head end to handle all of their processing requirements, regardless of the number and type of target devices and networks. The Genesis architecture makes it easy for a facility to convert gracefully to IP-based video delivery and deliver services to mobile, PC and TV screens from a single integrated platform. The Envivio NMP is presently in trial with the some of the world's largest Cable and Telecom operators and is available now to select, early access customers. Envivio expects to ship the NMP to the general public in early 2011.
