Es'hailSat Offers Company Insights at the Broadcast Eurasia and 4th Global Satellite Show in Istanbul

Es’hailSat, the Qatar Satellite Company, is exhibiting at the annual Broadcast Eurasia & 4th Global Satellite Show that is being conducted from November 1 to 3 at Istanbul Expo Center.

This event is dedicated to the entire value chain in the satellite industry, as well as space technology, broadcast, ICT and telecommunications sectors. The company is showcasing the Es’hail-1 satellite, currently transmitting high quality, premium DTH television content from the 25.5°/26° East neighborhood, and Es’hail-2, the company’s second satellite that is scheduled for launch soon.

In addition to providing transmission and expansion opportunities for established news and sports channels, a growing number of new channels are choosing Es’hailSat to launch in the MENA region. El Sharq recently started broadcasting on Es’hail-1.

Es’hail-2 is being manufactured in Japan by MELCO (Mitsubishi Electric Corporation).

Es’hail-2, a new high-performance satellite with sophisticated anti-jamming capabilities, will be positioned at the 26° East hotspot position for TV broadcasting, significantly adding to the company’s ability to provide high quality, premium DTH television content across the Middle East and North Africa. And discussions are already ongoing with customers and stakeholders to define the requirements for new satellite programs in other regions.

Es’hailSat has commissioned the firm's own teleport at a dedicated and secured site in Doha. The new facility provides satellite TT&C and capacity management together with a wide range of teleport services such as uplink, downlink, contribution, multiplexing, encoding, playout and broadcasting. The high-tech teleport will also provide back-up studios for TV channels and serve as a disaster recovery facility for broadcasters. The site will be linked with key media broadcasters by a redundant, dedicated fiber optic link.

Executive Comment

Ali Al Kuwari, President and Chief Executive Officer of Es’hailSat, said that it is a pleasure to be exhibiting once again at Broadcast Eurasia & 4th Global Satellite Show. Since the commercial launch of Es’hail-1 in 2013, the company has had tremendous success in expanding services beyond the local market, — with this new state of the art teleport completed, and Es’hail-2 scheduled to be launched soon, Broadcast Eurasia & 4th Global Satellite Show gives the company the correct platform to engage with customers and partners as well as to showcase Es'hailSat capabilities and future plans —  this exhibition is an important part of the company's strategy.
